Saanich police recovered stolen tools Tuesday after the owner discovered they had been put up for sale online.
The tools were among construction equipment, valued at over $2,000, reported stolen July 15 after someone broke into a detached building on Feltham Road in Gordon Head.
The investigation led police to a home on Harvard Place, where the tools were found.
No arrests have yet been made.
Saanich police Const. Markus Anastasiades said the owner had recorded the tools’ serial numbers, something that police recommend.
Owners can also take pictures of items or make note of any unusual markings, he said.
