Stolen bike returned to special needs student

A bicycle stolen from a youth with special needs has been recovered and returned to its owner. A security guard turned the bike over to Saanich police after finding it unsecured on Tuesday night.

A bicycle stolen from a youth with special needs has been recovered and returned to its owner.

A security guard turned the bike over to Saanich police after finding it unsecured on Tuesday night.

It had been swiped from a storage shed at SJ Willis School on Topaz Avenue over the weekend. The bicycle belonged to a student at the school with special needs, who used it as his main source of transportation. Victoria police said in a statement that the youth was unable to participate in classroom or school activities after the bike went missing.

The bike was damaged with graffiti.
