A Victoria-based St. Michaels University School student has tested positive for COVID-19, according to deputy head of school Andy Rodford.
In a letter to the school community, Rodford said the student apparently contracted the virus at home within his family and was unlikely to be infectious during his last days at school.
“Public health did not instruct the family to inform the school. However, they did inform us, and we felt compelled to update you with this information,” he said.
Concern about COVID-19 led to the school being dismissed early for spring break on March 13.
