Southbound Malahat traffic is backed up from the summit to Bamberton as of early evening on Sunday.
One post on a Facebook page dedicated to Malahat conditions states “southbound is jammed.”
Another said, “Southbound will be an exercise in patience. The back-up starts at Bamberton.”
Drive B.C. webcams show traffic slowed from the summit south.
The Malahat gets congested later in the day on Sundays in the summer as Greater Victoria residents return from outings. Construction work along the highway also slows down traffic.
