Shawnigan Lake RCMP are advising the public that a teenage girl was approached by a man in a vehicle near the bus stop at Thain Road and Cobble Hill Road about 3 p.m. on May 22.
The teen told police that the man drove up and offered her a ride home. After she declined, the driver turned the vehicle around and went past her once more before leaving.
The suspect is described as white and 30 to 40 with reddish-brown hair and a short beard. He was wearing a black baseball cap.
The vehicle is an older-model red sedan that might have a burned-out tail light and a missing rear licence plate.
