For the second time in recent days, a piece of outdoor art has been stolen in the Nanaimo area.

A 136-kilogram concrete Chinese terracotta warrior statue went missing overnight Tuesday from a home in the 7000 block of McGill Road in Lantzville, RCMP said.

The sculpture is just over one metre tall and has been stained to look like it is dark bronze.

Last weekend, a 1.2-metre tall aluminum sculpture of a dragon went missing from Maffeo Sutton Park. The sculpture, called Rock Dragon, is one of 11 pieces placed in parks and public spaces this year by the city.

Anyone with information on these two incidents is asked to call Nanaimo RCMP at 250-754-2345 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), or go to nanaimocrimestoppers.com.
