An attempted theft of patio furniture from a Langford home Tuesday night was followed by an attempted theft of a bicycle a few blocks away.

The incidents happened on Goldstream Avenue and Fairway Avenue.

West Shore RCMP were notified about 11:30 p.m. and arrested a suspect, a 22-year-old Victoria man.

A search of the suspect turned up two pieces of identification that had been reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle earlier in the day.

Police said the suspect was breaching a court-ordered curfew at the time of his arrest. They said the homeowners helped them by calling right away and providing a detailed description of the suspect.
