Another winter windstorm, another sailboat beached on a local shoreline. This time a white sailboat is stuck on the sands of Cadboro Bay beach, where it is attracting interest from passersby.
The boat was pushed out of the water during the December windstorm. No plans have been announced for its removal.
In 2017, fed up area residents mounted a volunteer effort, in combination with various agencies, to clear away boats and refuse on the beach.
Sailboats have washed up on beaches near Turkey Head in Oak Bay and on Gonzales Beach in Victoria in previous years.
