Saanich traffic stop leads to replica firearms, drugs

Saanich police stopped a suspicious vehicle in the area of McKenzie Avenue and the Patricia Bay Highway on Monday and found 10 replica firearms and drugs believed to be fentanyl, methamphetamine and psilocybin.

Saanich police stopped a suspicious vehicle in the area of McKenzie Avenue and the Patricia Bay Highway on Monday and found 10 replica firearms and drugs believed to be fentanyl, methamphetamine and psilocybin.

A man and a woman known to police were arrested.

“Any time drugs are accompanied by replica firearms, it is cause for concern,” said Det. Sgt. Damian Kowalewich.
