Saanich store robbed by man who claimed to have a weapon: police

A Saanich convenience store was robbed early Thursday by a man who told a clerk he had a gun. Police said the man entered the 7-Eleven at 10 Burnside Rd. West about 1:30 a.m., claimed to be armed and demanded money.

A Saanich convenience store was robbed early Thursday by a man who told a clerk he had a gun.

Police said the man entered the 7-Eleven at 10 Burnside Rd. West about 1:30 a.m., claimed to be armed and demanded money. He left with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The clerk did not see a firearm.

The suspect is described as white, about 20 years old and five-foot-six to five-foot-10 with a thin build and short brown hair. He was wearing a black Carhartt hooded jacket, black Jordan pants and black shoes.
