North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP are looking for a suspect who approached a parked car Wednesday, threatened the two occupants with a weapon and demanded drugs or money.

The driver acted quickly and threw the vehicle into reverse, causing the assailant to flee. The assailant got into a nearby dark-coloured pickup, which had plates starting with MR.

The incident happened about 8:30 p.m. in the 200 block of Evans Street in Duncan.

The suspect is described as about 30, white and about five-foot-10 and 170 pounds with a slim build. He was wearing a black hoodie with the hood pulled over his head, dark pants and a white facial covering with red on the mouth — possibly an image of a mouth with blood on it.

The truck is possibly a Dodge Ram with a lift kit and chrome on the back.

Anyone with information is asked to call North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP at 250-748-5522 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
