Police were in the area on another call when they saw flames inside the house.

They ran up to the structure and forced the doors open in an effort to see whether anyone was inside, but it became engulfed in smoke and dangerous to enter.

Police were able to confirm that the lone resident was not at home.

Fire and police investigators are in the early stages of determining the fire’s cause.
