The Boeing 737 that made an emergency landing at Victoria International Airport Wednesday evening is a local aircraft owned by Pacific Sky Aviation Inc.

The aircraft ran into a problem that hasn’t been specified, and made an emergency landing at the airport. It landed safely with 10 people aboard uninjured.

The 737 has been registered to Pacific Sky Aviation since 2007, according to Transport Canada.

Directors for Pacific Sky Aviation include David Curtis, CEO and president of Viking Air Ltd., manufacturer of de Havilland aircraft.

A privately owned Boeing 737 made an emergency landing at Victoria International Airport Wednesday evening, said airport operations manager James Bogusz.

The aircraft had 10 people on board but none were injured.

“Emergency responders are always called out as a precaution,” said Bogusz.

It’s not clear what the nature of the emergency was or where the aircraft was headed.

More information is expected to be available Thursday.
