Comox Valley RCMP said they’ve seized a powerful and possibly lethal combination of drugs.

The department sent a white powder to Health Canada labs for testing, after seizing it during a drug raid in October.

Health Canada confirmed the substance was a dangerous mix of fentanyl, a synthetic cannabinoid called 5F-ADB, caffeine and acetaminophen.

“We are very concerned about the confirmation of this synthetic cannabinoid and fentanyl in our community,” said Const. Monika Terragni, spokeswoman for Comox Valley RCMP. “This was a potent and potentially lethal combination of drugs. These substances have been associated with psychotic episodes, overdoses and were presented in such a way that users may have been unaware of exactly what they were consuming.”

As a result of the drug sting, Justin Chester was charged with several offences, including obstructing police, possession of a scheduled substance and failure to comply with his probation. He remains in police custody.
