Comox Valley RCMP are appealing for information on the anniversary of the disappearance of a woman from Courtenay in 2013.

Julia Strobach, 26, was last seen in the 1000-block of Braidwood Road on Oct. 31, 2013.

“We will continue investigating until we can explain Julia’s disappearance,” said Staff Sgt. Glen Breckon of the Major Crime Unit. “We know that someone has information that will help us locate her.

“If you think you might know something, even what seems like a small piece of information, or insignificant, we want you to call and speak with our investigators.”

Strobach, who has a son, had a history of being gone for periods of time and wasn’t reported missing until Nov. 15.

She had moved to Vancouver Island from Germany in 2009. The case left her family in Germany baffled.

Strobach is about five-foot-nine with green eyes and an average build. Her hair was dyed bright red at the time of her disappearance and she might have been carrying a backpack.

Anyone with information can call Comox Valley RCMP at 250-338-1321 and refer to file 2013-13948, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or go to comoxvalleycrimestoppers.bc.ca.
