Police release sketch of suspect in Galloping Goose sexual assault

West Shore RCMP have released a sketch of a suspect in a sexual assault of a 16-year-old girl on the Galloping Goose trail in Langford. The assault occurred about 1 p.m. on July 9 on the trail near Sooke and Happy Valley roads.

West Shore RCMP have released a sketch of a suspect in a sexual assault of a 16-year-old girl on the Galloping Goose trail in Langford.

The assault occurred about 1 p.m. on July 9 on the trail near Sooke and Happy Valley roads. The victim told police she was approached by a man seeking directions. After she gave them, the man shook her hand and pulled her toward him to hug her. He kissed her on the neck before she was able to push him away. The suspect thanked the girl and left.

The man is believed to be in his mid 20s to 30s, and is described as South Asian, with dark skin, dark brown to black hair that’s thick and wavy, brown eyes and a full beard. He is about five-foot-10 and 175 pounds, and was wearing a dark puffy jacket, dark jeans, a dark T-shirt and riding a bicycle. He has a South Asian accent.
