Saanich police have obtained surveillance video showing Andrew Sidor in the Rock Bay area of Victoria on Thursday, Aug. 15, 2019. He was found dead on Aug. 17.

Police have recovered the backpack, shoes and socks of a man found dead in the driveway of a vacant Saanich home on the weekend.

The items were found Tuesday, three days after the body of 30-year-old Andrew Michael Sidor was found outside a home at the corner of Crease Avenue and Wascana Street.

Saanich police and the Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit are investigating.

An autopsy has not yet been performed to determine cause of death, but police are treating it as suspicious due to the nature of Sidor’s injuries.

Police found the personal items as a result of information provided by the public.

“Support from the community has been tremendous, and we want to thank all those who have taken the time to contact us,” said Saanich police Sgt. Julie Fast.

Police obtained surveillance video taken Thursday in the Rock Bay area, and are working on reconstructing Sidor’s movements from the time of the video to his death.

Officers continue to seek assistance from the public and ask anyone with information about Sidor in that time period to call 250-380-6211.
