Police looking for high-risk offender known to target the elderly

Victoria police are asking the public to watch out for a high-risk offender known to target the vulnerable and elderly.

Jason Vincent, 39, failed to return to his halfway house for curfew and his statutory release was suspended.

His past convictions include dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm, possession of stolen property and identity theft.

Police said Vincent fled from police in 2018 during an attempted vehicle stop and was apprehended after a standoff involving the Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team.

He is described as white, five-foot-six and 241 pounds. He has close-cropped blondish-red hair, extensive tattoos on his arms and neck, and a small tattoo under his right eye.

Anyone who sees him is advised not to approach him and to call 911. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call Victoria police at 250-995-7654, extension 1. Reports can also be made anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
