Police investigating after woman assaulted in Gordon Head

Saanich police are asking the public for help in identifying the man responsible for assaulting a woman in Gordon Head.

Police said the 24-year-old woman was walking toward the beach on Gordon Point Drive about 2:30 a.m. on Sept. 6 when a man assaulted her, causing swelling and bruising to her face and body.

She was able to fight him off and run home, where she called police.

Her injuries were treated by paramedics. Victim services was contacted to provide her with support.

The man is described as tall with a medium build. He was wearing a black hoodie and blue jeans.

Despite an investigation police described as extensive, a suspect has not been located.
