Police dog Hammer quickly caught up to a fleeing suspect after a break-in at a shed in Courtenay.
Comox Valley RCMP were called Tuesday by a resident who reported the break-in and thought the suspect might still be inside the shed. Police found a man standing nearby and he started to run, but couldn’t get away from Hammer.
Graham Arthur Earle, 27, was charged with mischief. He has since been convicted and sentenced to 14 days in custody and one year of probation.
