Sooke RCMP are investigating a fire that destroyed a building in Sooke on Sunday night.

At about 5:30 p.m., a fire was reported at the South Island Concrete Products building at 6228 Sooke Rd.

Firefighters from Sooke, Metchosin and Otter Point extinguished the fire.

“After reviewing the information from first responders and the preliminary investigation done, we have determined that further investigation into the cause of this fire is necessary,” said Sooke Staff Sgt. Jeff McArthur.

The RCMP is appealing to anyone with information about the fire to contact the Sooke RCMP or CrimeStoppers toll free at 1-800-222-8477.
