A plaque honouring peacekeepers has been stolen from the Sandwick Cairn on Dingwall Road in Courtenay.

“This is a particularly disappointing theft since it is a plaque meant to honour our fallen peacekeepers here in the Comox Valley,” said Comox RCMP Const. Monika Terragni.

The plaque’s absence was noticed in August, but could have been stolen any time since late February.

Anyone with information is asked to call Comox Valley RCMP at 250-338-1321, referring to file 2019-13612. To remain anonymous call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or go to comoxvalleycrimestoppers.bc.ca.
