One person is dead after a collision Sunday afternoon between an SUV and a motorcycle on Six Mile Road in View Royal.
The victim, a 39-year-old Saanich resident, was on the motorcycle. He died in hospital.
Two passengers from the SUV were also taken to hospital. They have been released.
West Shore RCMP said they responded to the collision on Six Mile Road about 2:45 p.m. Police shut down the road between Old Island Highway and Atkins Avenue.
The road was closed for several hours and reopened around 7 p.m.
An RCMP traffic reconstructionist was called in to help with the investigation. — Times Colonist
