Oak Bay police watch for speeding, fishtailing stunt drivers

Oak Bay police say there have been several complaints in the past month about vehicles “stunt driving” in the vicinity of Cedar Hill Cross Road and Cadboro Bay Road.

Oak Bay police say there have been several complaints in the past month about vehicles “stunt driving” in the vicinity of Cedar Hill Cross Road and Cadboro Bay Road. Police describe stunting as careless driving that includes speeding, swerving and fishtailing.

Police tracked down a 21-year-old suspect on the evening of Jan. 1 and a 21-year-old on Jan. 2. In both cases, the vehicle involved was impounded for seven days, while the driver from Jan. 2 was also issued a $196 ticket for driving without consideration.
