Oak Bay police are looking for the driver of a beige minivan who left the scene of a crash with a cyclist at the Cattle Point parking lot Saturday afternoon.

Police say two cyclists were headed northeast on Beach Drive, travelling single-file, when a southwest-bound minivan turned into the parking lot, hitting the lead cyclist about 3:30 p.m.

The cyclist was knocked off his bike and suffered injuries to his head and chest, police said.

“The elderly driver spoke with the trailing cyclist, but then continued on his way and left the area,” police said. “No driver name or licence plate for the minivan were obtained at the time.”

Police are asking the driver to come forward. They’re also seeking any witnesses with information on the incident, the driver or the vehicle.
