The byelection to replace former North Saanich councillor Joscelyn Barnard has been set for April 6.

She resigned from her council position just weeks after winning a seat in the October municipal election, citing disenchantment with the system and its process.

Following the election, Barnard said she found “a system that can be manipulated to silence persistent councillors and suppress difficult information through in camera meetings.”

North Saanich Mayor Geoff Orr said it is good to have a date in place and that he expects as many as four candidates to enter.
