Nanaimo RCMP are looking for a man suspected of tampering with a fire hydrant, leaving it inoperable.
Around 7:40 a.m. on Sept. 29, the suspect removed metal from the inner piping attachment of the fire hose of a hydrant outside Marks Work Warehouse on Uplands Drive. The damage required a repair by maintenance crews.
Video surveillance caught footage of a man police believe is responsible.
The suspect is white, approximately 45-55 years old and wearing a tan coat and white running shoes. He had a black strap wrapped around his waist and legs and was pushing a shopping cart.
