West Shore RCMP arrested a naked man suspected of trying to break into a number of Colwood homes on Saturday.

He was highly agitated and aggressive, police said, and became violent when informed he was being taken into custody. He was believed to be under the influence of alcohol and drugs.

Police responded to a report of naked man on Mary Anne Crescent, off Veterans Memorial Parkway, about 4:40 a.m. and discovered a suspect had approached at least four homes and woken the residents by knocking loudly.

“The suspect broke the front door glass panels in two of the homes and managed to gain entry into one of the homes, walking around for a short period before exiting the home,” said West Shore RCMP Const. Nancy Saggar.

He was arrested for breaking-and-entering, uttering threats and assaulting a police officer. He sustained injuries from breaking the glass panels and was taken to hospital.
