Packages containing suspicious powder and anonymous threatening letters have been isolated to one spot and have not posed a risk to the public, said West Shore RCMP Cpl. Chris Dovell.

Packages containing suspicious powder and anonymous threatening letters were found at a Langford law office on Monday and Tuesday.

The same office, Hemminger Law Group, received a similar package on Sept. 7.

The packages were found Monday about 9:30 a.m. and Tuesday about 3:40 p.m.

In both cases, hazardous-material procedures were initiated and the RCMP Explosive Disposal Unit responded.

As a precaution, everyone who was in contact with the unknown substance went through a decontamination process and was assessed by medical personnel.

The powder found in September was tested and did not seem to be harmful, and the other two samples turned out to be benign.

West Shore RCMP Cpl. Chris Dovell said all of the incidents have been isolated to one spot and have not posed a risk to the public.
