Firefighters who rushed to a car fire on Lindholm Road in Metchosin on Thursday put out the blaze before it spread to nearby woods.

Metchosin firefighters received a page at 4:45 p.m., said Assistant Fire Chief Jason Humphries. The driver had pulled over when the car caught fire and neighbours quickly called 911.

Humphries said a deck gun was used to tackle the fire. “It’s a static water source on top of our truck which has a high volume of water. The fire was going into the ditch and going up a bank so we were able to stop the exposure which was the woods and took care of the car.”

No one was injured.
