Two men were arrested and unspecified illicit drugs, a firearm, hatchets and knives were found in a search of what police called a “drug house” near Parksville’s Wembley Mall.
Oceanside RCMP also found a “significant” amount of cash and items consistent with the packaging and distribution of drugs in the Nov. 27 search.
Staff Sgt. Marc Pelletier said members of the community helped the police investigation by providing information.
Ryan Walter O’Melia, 29, has been released on bail and 29-year-old Kyle Andrew Thompson has been held in custody pending a Dec. 10 court appearance.
