Tracy Marshall runs the last of her five fundraising marathons in five days on Monday.

Marshall was inspired to run as a thank-you for the caregivers at Beckley Farm Lodge, who looked after her mother, Carol, before she passed away in March.

Her goal is to raise $5,000 in support of Broadmead Care, a non-profit organization that operates Beckley Farm Lodge and four other long-term-care homes in Victoria.

She ran her first marathon on Thursday, with the last run scheduled for Monday. She mostly follows the

42.2-kilometre GoodLife Fitness Marathon route, but finishes at Beckley Farm Lodge in James Bay instead of in front of the legislature.

Lorraine Gee, manager of Beckley Farm Lodge, said government funding covers the basics, but extras such as specialty equipment and programs are only possible through fundraising. “We are so grateful and honoured Tracy is doing this to support our residents.”
