A man has been charged in connection with a 2019 robbery in Courtenay after a lengthy investigation by the Comox Valley RCMP Major Crime Unit.
The robbery was reported April 12, 2019, at a business on Ryan Road. A man with his face and hands covered entered the business and demanded money and cigarettes.
Surveillance footage from other businesses helped in the investigation.
“When a suspect is not apprehended right away, our investigators do not give up,” said Const. Monika Terragni. “It can take days, weeks or even months to examine all of the evidence.”
James Hutchison is scheduled to appear in court June 26.
