Nanaimo RCMP are looking for a suspect after a Subway employee was robbed of his tip money and his bicycle by a man wielding a piece of rebar.

Police said the incident happened about 12:30 a.m. on Sept. 6 when the employee was taking out the garbage at the rear of the Bowen Road Subway location.

The man confronted him and demanded his money, so he dug through his pockets for tips he had earned on his shift.

The man also took the employee’s bike, an orange Mongoose with a blue water-bottle holder.

The suspect is described as white and was wearing a black hat and a beige button-up T-shirt with the words “Super High.”

Call the Nanaimo RCMP at 250-754-2345 with any information.
