A 60-year-old man has died after being struck by a vehicle in Nanaimo Monday night.
Nanaimo RCMP say the pedestrian was hit at the intersection of Nicol Street and Needham Sreet. about 9 p.m.
He was taken to hospital in Nanaimo and then airlifted to Victoria General, where he was pronounced dead at 12:45 a.m., police say.
The female driver remained at the scene and is co-operating with investigators.
The crash closed Nicol Street for more than three hours while police gathered evidence at the scene.
