Last five still-closed library branches will reopen in next two months

The five remaining still-closed branches of the Greater Victoria Public library system are reopening in September and October. Similar to other branches that have already opened, they will offer limited in-person service.

The five remaining still-closed branches of the Greater Victoria Public library system are reopening in September and October.

Similar to other branches that have already opened, they will offer limited in-person service. 

Reopening branches are: 

• Nellie McClung branch, 3950 Cedar Hill Rd., opens on Sept. 11.

• Esquimalt branch, 1231 Esquimalt Rd., opens Sept. 18.

• Langford Heritage branch, 102-1314 Lakepoint Way, opens Sept 25.

• Emily Carr branch, 101-3521 Blanshard St., opens Oct. 2.

• Goudy branch, 119-755 Goldstream Ave., opens Oct. 9.

From Mondays to Saturdays, branches are open between 11 a.m and noon for seniors or those who are immune-compromised. Everyone is welcome between noon and 4 p.m.

Book-return drop boxes are now available 24 hours a day, seven days a week at all open branches.

Limited in-person library service previously resumed at Central Branch, Juan de Fuca Branch, Central Saanich Branch, Saanich Centennial Branch, Bruce Hutchison Branch, Oak Bay Branch and James Bay Branch.

The due date for all materials borrowed from GVPL prior to its system-wide closure in March is now Oct. 13.
