Parents are preparing for the possibility of a strike that could cancel classes in Saanich School District.

The Greater Victoria school district is asking students, families and the community for input as it gears up for the start of school in September.

“We really want to hear from students and their families about how we can continue to work together to set everyone up for success,” said board chairwoman Jordan Watters.

The district anticipates that instruction next year will feature a hybrid approach, with a mix of face-to-face and remote-learning options.

Superintendent Shelley Green said community input will help determine how best to engage and support students and staff in a “blended” learning model.

“We want to hear about experiences, preferred methods of communication, thoughts on rotational schedules, the best time for check-ins, etc. — all things that can refine our back-to-school transition in September,” Green said.

Participants can leave feedback on an online forum, share their thoughts and engage with each other’s ideas.
