A fourth Victoria real estate agent has lost his job as a result of allegations of sexual assault that were posted online.

A statement from Prime Real Estate Team and Remax Island Properties says the agent has been released from the brokerage.

“There have been anonymous allegations made on social media against a realtor from our brokerage, and we can confirm that he is no longer associated with our firm and had relinquished his listings at our request after the first allegation last week. He has also surrendered his licence to us,” brokerage co-owner Susan Froher wrote Tuesday in a Facebook post.

“As a survivor, I personally know how difficult it is to report sexualized violence, and I commend those who spoke publicly to bring an important issue to the community’s attention.”

In the post, Froher said her team supports all victims of sexualized violence and joins in solidarity with the community to admonish this behaviour and empower survivors.

“We all need to engage in the process of making communities safer until there are no more victims,” she said.

Allegations from two people were posted to the @survivorstoriesprojects page on Instagram. Both claimed they knew the man well and detailed incidents of being drugged and sexually assaulted.

“There is no doubt in my mind I was drugged and that he would’ve raped me if I had closed my eyes,” one of the victims wrote. “I remember not being able to move and only being able to use my words to insult him and fight back.”

A second victim claimed she had been dating the agent for a brief period and alleged that during a night out with him she had been drugged and found herself naked in his bed.

“I never really thought much about this until I told someone how it went that night and they were [sic] told me ‘ummm that’s sexual assault.’ It definitely didn’t feel right then and it still doesn’t.”
