Four people and two cats unhurt in James Bay house fire

A residential fire in James Bay caused an estimated $100,000 in damage on Sunday. The four people and two cats who live in the Montreal Street home were not injured. Victoria Fire Department firefighters responded about 2 p.m.

A residential fire in James Bay caused an estimated $100,000 in damage on Sunday.

The four people and two cats who live in the Montreal Street home were not injured.

Victoria Fire Department firefighters responded about 2 p.m. with 16 firefighters and five trucks. They arrived to find flames coming through second-floor windows and spreading up the side of the roof.

The fire was quickly knocked down and the damage limitedto two rooms.

The displaced people are being assisted by the Canadian Red Cross.
