Firefighters rescue boy, 12, trapped under vehicle in tobogganing accident

A 12-year-old boy escaped with non-life-threatening injuries Wednesday when the toboggan he was on slid across a road and into the path of an SUV. He was briefly trapped underneath the vehicle, which quickly came to a stop, Saanich police said.

A 12-year-old boy escaped with non-life-threatening injuries Wednesday when the toboggan he was on slid across a road and into the path of an SUV.

He was briefly trapped underneath the vehicle, which quickly came to a stop, Saanich police said.

Saanich firefighters got the boy out from under the vehicle.

The incident happened about 4:15 p.m. on McLellan Street, near McKenzie Avenue and the Patricia Bay Highway.

No charges will be filed.
