A vacant building in Victoria sustained significant damage after a fire broke out at about 5 a.m. Sunday.
Victoria Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 202 Harbour Rd., which is a former Canadian Coast Guard building.

It has been vacant for years but squatters have been using it as a shelter, said Battalion Chief Bob Jones.
No one was injured. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
