Ferry service set to resume Thursday between Chemainus, Penelakut Island

Ferry service between Chemainus and Penelakut Island is scheduled to resume Thursday following repairs to the Penelakut ferry dock. The B.C. Ferries dock was damaged by the Dec. 20 windstorm that affected communities across Vancouver Island.

Ferry service between Chemainus and Penelakut Island is scheduled to resume Thursday following repairs to the Penelakut ferry dock.

The B.C. Ferries dock was damaged by the Dec. 20 windstorm that affected communities across Vancouver Island.

The MV Kuper ferry was unable to dock at Penelakut due to the damage, so a 48-person water taxi was brought in on a temporary basis.

Minor tasks related to the repairs will continue through next Tuesday.
