Driver who drove into ravine may have been impaired: RCMP

Campbell River RCMP say a 28-year-old man who drove his vehicle off Quinsam Road into a small ravine early Monday is suspected of having been impaired. Police said he is lucky to be alive.

Campbell River RCMP say a 28-year-old man who drove his vehicle off Quinsam Road into a small ravine early Monday is suspected of having been impaired.

Police said he is lucky to be alive.

“If you are drinking or doing any kind of drugs that impair your ability to drive, put your keys away and call a cab or a friend, bur please just don’t drive,” said Campbell River RCMP Const. Maury Tyre.

Campbell River RCMP report a recent run on alleged impaired-driving incidents, with nine people being taken off the road in the past week at road blocks.
