Dorothy Hartshorne announced Sunday that she plans to run for North Saanich council in the April 6 byelection.

Dorothy Hartshorne, who ran second to Geoff Orr in the North Saanich mayor’s race last fall, is seeking a return to council in the municipality’s April 6 byelection.

The byelection was necessitated by the resignation of Joscelyn Barnard just weeks after she won a council seat.

Hartshorne, who announced her intention to run Sunday, previously served two terms on North Saanich council from 1999-2005. She also sought the mayoralty in 2014 but finished a close second to then-incumbent Alice Finall.
