The body of a missing diver who disappeared near the Winchelsea Islands, north of Nanaimo, was recovered by the RCMP Dive Team Wednesday.
The man, in his 40s, went missing during a recreational dive on Aug. 13.
Nanaimo RCMP said two men had been on a 14-foot boat and one of them was diving. When the diver did not surface as expected, the other man called someone on shore, who eventually called 911.
Police said a language barrier led to a delay of about two hours in the incident being reported.
Foul play is not suspected and the case is with the B.C. Coroners Service.
