Someone has just seven weeks to claim a $1-million winning lottery ticket purchased on Vancouver Island.

The 6/49 ticket, set to expire at midnight on March 18, 2021, was purchased on the north Island.

The prize is from the March 18, 2020, guaranteed prize draw, and the winning number is 19117903-02. Guaranteed prize draw numbers can be found underneath the main set of six numbers on 6/49 tickets.

BCLC will reveal the specific retail location where the winning lottery ticket was purchased after the winner has come forward to claim the prize.

All lottery prize winners have 52 weeks from the draw date printed on their ticket to come forward to claim their prize.

In January 2019, a $1-million lottery ticket expired a year after being sold in Victoria. At the time, the B.C. Lottery Corp. said four other $1-million prizes had gone unclaimed in B.C. in the previous 10 years.

When that happens with one of the nationally run games — like 6/49 or Lotto Max — the money goes back into the prize pot. When it's a BCLC-operated game like the BC/49, the cash goes to the provincial government.

BCLC paid out more than $691 million in lottery prizes last year.
