A car was pushed onto a front lawn after being hit by a pickup truck early Friday, and West Shore RCMP believe drug impairment was a factor.

Police received several calls about the crash about 3:40 a.m. The car had been parked on Haida Drive in Colwood and surveillance video provided by a witness shows the pickup crashing into it. The 34-year-old woman at the wheel then backs up and leaves the scene.

The driver and truck were quickly located by patrol officers. The driver was arrested for impaired driving and her truck was impounded. She was also given a 24-hour driving prohibition and a ticket for failing to remain at the scene of a collision.
