A Campbell River resident arrested for allegedly pointing a firearm at another man on Saturday afternoon is facing 16 charges.

RCMP were called about 2 p.m. to a location on Dogwood Street and quickly located a suspect.

Police believe the two men know each other.

A related search of a residence on Sunday turned up substances believed to be fentanyl, cocaine and MDMA, along with firearms and ammunition.

Ray Sharkey appeared in court Monday on charges that include possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. He remained in custody on Tuesday.

“Whenever we are dealing with firearms in the community being used in such a brazen manner there is an inherent risk that needs to be managed,” said Const. Maury Tyre.
