Campbell River man arrested after making threats to police

A man allegedly threatened to shoot a police officer in Black Creek on Friday, and a Campbell River man is facing charges because of the incident. The suspect was located and placed under surveillance, then followed to the Black Creek general store.

A man allegedly threatened to shoot a police officer in Black Creek on Friday, and a Campbell River man is facing charges because of the incident.

The suspect was located and placed under surveillance, then followed to the Black Creek general store. Comox Valley RCMP approached after he went into a bathroom, but he refused to come out and said he had a gun.

He was removed from the bathroom with the help of the Emergency Response Team.

Stephen Pawlak, a 42-year-old Campbell River man, faces charges that include carrying a concealed weapon — a handgun — and unauthorized possession of a loaded weapon.
