Salt Spring Island residents living in the Beddis Water Service Area are being advised that a boil-water advisory has been issued for their area.
A major watermain break has left homes in a large portion the affected area with reduced or no water service.
As a result, the Capital Regional District Integrated Water Services, in consultation with Island Health, has issued a boil-water advisory for the entire water service area. During the advisory, residents should disinfect their household tap water by boiling it vigorously for one minute.
